چکیده
Bismuth oxide (Bi2O3) coatings and composite containing this have been studied due to their potential applications in gas sensing, optoelectronics, photocatalysis, even tribology. Two parametric models based on chemical features proposed with the aim of predicting lubricity response oxides. However, such predict contradictory values coefficient friction (COF) for Bi2O3. In study, we deposited Bi2O3 coatings, via magnetron sputtering, AISI D2 steel substrates evaluate tribological responses determine which model describes them better. Experimentally, only presenting cubic defective fluorite-like δ-Bi2O3 phase could be evaluated. We performed pin-on-disk tests at room temperature progressively increasing temperatures up 300 °C using alumina counter-bodies. Low wear COFs (0.05 0.15) indicated that δ-phase behaves as a lubricious solid, favoring validity one models. An alternative explanation is low COF structure since it well known contains 25% anionic vacancies can ordered form shear-strength planes, similar Magnéli phases. challenges future were observed: was adhesion strength substrate, other thermal stability phase.

The tribological properties of Cu-Ni3Al-MoS2 composite coating deposited by magnetron sputtering
In industrial applications, most materials are exposed to wear and friction because multiple conditions are used. However, the tribological properties of these materials can be improved with different techniques. One such technique that improves the frictional property of a surface is the use of self-lubricating coatings. In this study, multicomponent coatings of nominal composition Cu-Ni3Al-Mo...

The use of dental implants is sometimes accompanied by failure due to periimplantitis disease and subsequently poor esthetics when soft-hard tissue margin recedes. As a consequence, further research is needed for developing new bioactive surfaces able to enhance the osseous growth. Tantalum (Ta) is a promising material for dental implants since, comparing with titanium (Ti), it is bioactive and...

متن کاملINVESTIGATION OF THE GROWTH MECHANISMS OF a-CHX COATINGS DEPOSITED BY PULSED REACTIVE MAGNETRON SPUTTERING
The study of the growth mechanisms of amorphous hydrogenated carbon coatings (aCHx) deposited by reactive pulsed magnetron discharge in Ar+C2H2, Ar+H2 and Ar+C2H2+H2 low pressure atmospheres is presented in this work. Hydrogen-containing species of the reactant gas affect the microstructure and surface properties of the a-CHx thin films. The dynamic scaling theory has been used to relate the ma...
